FAQ

Questions and answers about Paulmichl products and services

Which products and solutions does Paulmichl offer?

Paulmichl develops and manufactures components for biogas, slurry and environmental technology, including separators, agitators, pumps and complete plant solutions. All systems are technically coordinated and designed for long-lasting, low-fault operation. In addition to standard solutions, we offer tailored designs for agricultural, industrial and municipal applications. Our team supports you from planning through to commissioning, as well as with service-related queries.

Which types of businesses are Paulmichl’s products suitable for?

Our technology is aimed at operators of biogas plants, agricultural livestock farms, as well as municipal and industrial facilities that require pumping, mixing or separation technology. The systems can be adapted to new and existing infrastructures. Thanks to modular components, expansions and upgrades are straightforward. We provide individual advice on which solution is economically viable for the specific conditions.

Does Paulmichl provide consultancy for planning new biogas or slurry plants?

Yes, we support customers from the early planning stage with technical design, plant concepts and component recommendations. In doing so, we take substrates, performance data and structural conditions into account. We also prepare bespoke offers for small or compact biogas plants. The aim is efficient, reliable and low-maintenance operation. You can find out more about our biogas plants in the owner-builder model here.

Can Paulmichl modernise or retrofit existing plants?

Many of our customers already operate plants and want to increase efficiency, operational reliability or throughput. We assess the current condition, identify weak points and propose suitable upgrades. These may include new separators, more powerful agitators or durable pumps. Modernisations are planned so that ongoing operation is affected as little as possible.

How does the quotation process work if I need a new plant or component?

After a brief description of your requirements, we review key technical data such as tank sizes, substrates, throughput and the desired performance. We then prepare an individual quotation including a product recommendation and optional expansion possibilities. Close customer support plays a central role: for more complex projects, we are also happy to visit you on site to review the specific operating conditions. This ensures that the solution fits your operation precisely.

Which data is required to size an agitator or a pump?

For an accurate recommendation, we need information on tank volume, diameter, depth, substrate structure and the desired operating intervals. Existing connections and structural conditions are also important. On this basis, we select the appropriate power class and mixing technology. This ensures that the system mixes reliably, saves energy and remains low-maintenance over the long term.

What size or capacity should a separator have?

The choice depends on the required throughput, the type of slurry or substrate, and the operational requirements. We check the desired dry matter contents and how the material will be used afterwards. Based on this, we recommend a suitable separation system and, if necessary, complementary pumping or pre-treatment stages. The goal is high separation accuracy with stable, efficient operation. You can find an overview of our slurry separators here.

Can pumps and agitators be combined in a slurry pit?

Yes, in many cases a combination makes sense to ensure both a homogeneous liquid level and safe transfer. The design depends on the diameter, depth, consistency and use of the pit. We recommend suitable power classes and mounting variants that operate reliably and energy-efficiently. If desired, we can support installation on site through our in-house pipework team and service team.

Does Paulmichl also deliver internationally?

We supply customers worldwide and have numerous international references across Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Our technology is often used in agricultural operations, biogas plants and municipal projects. Consultancy and technical design are also provided for projects with particular climatic or infrastructural requirements. If desired, we support partner businesses on site.

How does service and technical support work?

Our service teams provide support by telephone, remotely or directly on site. We help with troubleshooting, replacing components, optimising settings and long-term maintenance planning.

Can external companies work with Paulmichl or become resellers?

We work with dealer networks, service partners and planning offices. Interested parties can contact us to discuss technical documentation, price lists or co-operation models. Collaboration is agreed individually and depends on the market environment and product focus. We support partners with training and technical advice.

What should I do if existing pumps or components are prone to faults?

We analyse the current configuration, operating conditions and wear points of the existing technology. Often, significant improvements can be achieved through optimised pipe routing, suitable pump types or more robust components. If desired, we compare alternatives and propose durable solutions for replacement. The aim is reliable operation with the lowest possible maintenance and repair costs.

How can I obtain technical documentation, data sheets or catalogues?

We provide technical documentation digitally depending on the product. This includes data sheets, dimensional drawings, performance data, as well as guidance on installation, operation and maintenance. Interested parties and partners can request these documents directly from us. For larger projects, we also prepare additional design documentation.

How can I submit a project or product enquiry as quickly as possible?

The easiest way is to submit an enquiry via our contact form, providing the most important technical key data. Alternatively, you can reach us by phone or email and clarify any open points directly in conversation. The more precise the information about tanks, substrates and the desired performance, the faster we can prepare a tailored quotation. Our team will get back to you promptly.
